I am actively leading design efforts from Workday’s side in a collaborative project with Salesforce, focused on creating a seamless user experience by integrating our two companies' extensive data sets in a "better together" narrative. This initiative supports a unified, high-quality user experience, regardless of which platform users are accessing. This project is under a confidentiality agreement but more information can be found in the Workday and Salesforce press release.
To ensure consistency and usability across platforms, I partnered with Salesforce’s subject matter experts (SMEs) and Principal Designers to develop foundational guidelines. Together, we established a baseline for interactivity, experience patterns, and guiding design principles, allowing both teams to align on cohesive design elements and workflows.
This collaboration leveraged my framework for cross-functional alignment, ensuring that user needs and usability standards remained the focus. By setting clear, consistent principles early in the design process, we enabled the teams to streamline decision-making and reduce development friction across organizations.
In this project, I prioritized creating UI and design assets with meticulous attention to quality, ensuring that the final interface is not only user-friendly but also visually trustworthy. High-quality design serves as a vital component in building trust between users and the integrated system, enabling effective communication of data and workflows.
To facilitate cross-functional collaboration, I crafted design artifacts that were accessible and relevant for multiple stakeholders across Workday and Salesforce. These assets have been instrumental in aligning cross-org teams on design objectives, conveying complex ideas clearly, and maintaining alignment on our shared goals.
Although the project is ongoing, our collaborative work thus far has set the stage for a unified user experience that supports seamless transitions between Workday and Salesforce platforms. By creating a reliable, integrated experience, we’re positioned to improve task efficiency for end users while unlocking business value through more cohesive data utilization.
